DESCRIPTION:  Join us for three mathematics presentations by graduate students.  Each presentation will be 15-20 minutes and serve as an opportunity for our graduate students to share their interests and hone their presentation techniques.

"Elementary connections between topology and chaos theory" by Jack Kessler

"Stolz-Cesaro Theorem: A Criterion for Proving the Convergence of a Sequence " by Kaden Ripingill

"Using ordinary generating functions in combinatorics" by Carl Cassidy

LaTeX Workshop

DESCRIPTION:  LaTeX is the typesetting system of choice for nearly all scientific communication.  Mathematicians, Scientists, and Engineers use it to create beautiful looking documents that contain mathematical symbols and expressions.

Come join the American Mathematical Society Graduate Student Chapter at UCCS for a LaTeX workshop, where you'll learn the basics of LaTeX and use it to create your very own professional CV. Before arriving, we recommend attendees install a LaTeX distribution from the LaTex Project (Mac users may prefer to get TeXShop) or to make make an easy-to-use account on the online LaTeX system Overleaf.  That way you can work along on your computer while we show you the ins and outs of LaTeX.

DESCRIPTION:  A personal academic website is a great way to showcase research, accomplishments, and interests to the world, but it's also easy to get lost learning how to create one. Come join the AMS Graduate Student Chapter at UCCS as we host a website workshop where attendees will learn to navigate the basics of creating a website with Hugo, a free and open-source content-driven static website generator. We recommend that attendees install the free source control system Git (via https://git-scm.com/downloads) prior to arrival in order to install beautiful website themes for use with Hugo.
