Graduate Teaching Fellowships

Fellowships

Graduate Teaching

For students enrolled in the mathematics M.S. and Ph.D. programs, the department offers a limited number of Graduate Teaching Fellowships (GTF's). Each GTF receives a tuition grant and pay for teaching. To estimate your cost of attendance please use the Estimate Your Bill tool on the Bursar's website.

Each GTF must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours of graduate-level courses each Fall and Spring semester, and is required to perform certain teaching duties during the academic year, as stipulated by the department. Normally such duties consist of teaching 8 credit hours of lower-level undergraduate courses over the Fall and Spring semesters. GTF appointments are granted for one year at a time, and renewal is contingent upon satisfactory performance in graduate coursework and teaching duties.

Applications for GTF positions are due APRIL 1st for the Fall semester and OCTOBER 31st for the Spring semester. Please submit the application form, and arrange to have at least two letters of recommendation addressing your teaching experience and potential sent directly to the following address.
