Admission for US Applicants

To be considered for admission as a regular degree student to the graduate program at the Department of Mathematics, University of Colorado, Colorado Springs please Apply Online (UCCS Online Graduate Application Guide).

The following will be requested in the process.

  1. A $60.00 non-refundable application fee
  2. An official transcript from each college/university attended, sent directly from the previous school or hand delivered in a sealed university envelope (UCCS Transcript Request Form)
  3. Letters of recommendation from faculty at colleges/universities attended: 2 for the M.S. and MSc programs, and 3 for the Ph.D. program
  4. Scores from the GRE General Test, taken within the last 2 years (for Spring 2022 or later admission)
  5. A Selective Service Form, for males and born after 1960
  6. An In-State Tuition Classification Form, if claiming in-state tuition eligibility

Students who wish to request financial assistance from the department should also submit an application for a Graduate Teaching Fellowship, directly to the department, at the address below.

Completed applications (including all supporting documentation) should be submitted 60 days prior to the term for which admission is sought. However, applications are reviewed on a continuous basis, and will be considered if this deadline is not met.

Admission for International Applicants

To be considered for admission as a regular degree student to the graduate program at the Department of Mathematics, University of Colorado, Colorado Springs please Apply Online (UCCS Online Graduate Application Guide).

The following will be requested in the process.

  1. A Financial Statement for International Students Form, with the required documentation
  2. A $60.00 non-refundable application fee
  3. An official transcript from each college/university attended. Applicants with course-work from any foreign college must submit a course-by-course foreign transcript evaluation by a NACES or AICE member. (Please note: Official evaluations received directly from SpanTran, WES and ECE credential agencies may enable more efficient review and processing of transfer credit by UCCS.)
  4. Letters of recommendation from faculty at colleges/universities attended: 2 for the M.S. and MSc programs, and 3 for the Ph.D. program
  5. Scores from the GRE General Test, taken within the last 2 years (for Spring 2022 or later admission)
  6. Demonstration of English proficiency, for students whose native language is not English (Conditional acceptance will NOT be granted for students who do not meet the English language requirements set forth by the university and department.)

Streamlined Admission for Outstanding UCCS Students

The Mathematics Department offers guaranteed and expedited admission to the department's graduate program to current UCCS students who satisfy the following conditions.

  • Are in the process of completing the Mathematics B.S. degree at UCCS.
  • Are in their final undergraduate semester.
  • Have an overall GPA of at least 3.5, as well as a MATH GPA of at least 3.5.
  • Are residents of the United States.

The following will be requested in the process.

  1. A $60.00 non-refundable application fee
  2. A completed Guaranteed Early Admission Application Form
  3. A completed UCCS Transcript Request Form
  4. Two letters of recommendation from members of the mathematics department faculty
